1. Introduction

Welcome to Cricket Live ("we", "our", or "the app"), developed by CraftlyCode, based in India. We are committed to being transparent about our privacy practices and protecting user privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you download, install, or use the Cricket Live Android mobile application (package name: co.craftlycode.cricket.live). Cricket Live is a free sports companion providing live cricket scores, match centres, full scorecards, ball-by-ball commentary, squads, and match bookmarking.

By installing and using Cricket Live, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We adhere to strict data minimization principles:

  • NO user accounts: We do not require registration, login, email address, password, or profile creation.
  • NO user-generated content: The app does not feature comment sections, chats, social feeds, or file uploads.
  • NO precise GPS location: The app does NOT request or access GPS or precise device location permissions.
  • NO push notifications: The app does not request notification permissions or send push alerts.

A. On-Device Local Data

The app stores certain user choices purely locally on your Android device (using local storage / Shared Preferences):

  • Followed Matches: Matches you bookmark with a heart icon so they appear in your Following tab.
  • App Settings: Local user preferences selected during onboarding or in settings (such as language or country preference).

This local data is stored only on your device, is never transmitted to CraftlyCode servers, and is permanently deleted when you uninstall the application or clear app data in Android settings.

B. Automatically Collected Data via Third-Party SDKs

To deliver ads, diagnose errors, and monitor app stability, the app integrates industry-standard software development kits (SDKs) provided by Google and Firebase. These SDKs collect certain technical and usage telemetry automatically:

Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) Advertising

Used to serve and measure advertisements within the application. Data collected includes:

  • Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / GAID) and device identifiers.
  • IP address (used to infer coarse/approximate location, such as city or country level, for ad relevancy and fraud detection).
  • App interaction data: Ad impressions, views, clicks, and diagnostic metrics.
Firebase Analytics App Performance & Usage

Used to understand aggregated app usage patterns and improve user experience. Data collected includes:

  • App usage events (e.g., screens opened, features accessed).
  • Device information (device model, operating system version).
  • App instance ID and approximate geographic location derived from IP address.
Firebase Crashlytics Crash Diagnostics

Used to detect and resolve technical crashes and performance anomalies. Data collected includes:

  • Crash stack traces and error diagnostics.
  • Device state, device model, and Android OS version at time of crash.
  • A random Crashlytics installation ID.
Cloud Firestore Remote Configuration

Used exclusively to download remote configuration parameters (such as whether ads are enabled or feature switches). No personal user data is ever stored in Cloud Firestore.

3. How We Use Information

The collected technical and diagnostic data is used solely for the following legitimate purposes:

  • Displaying Advertisements: Serving banner or interstitial ads to keep Cricket Live free for everyone.
  • App Performance & Stability: Monitoring crash logs via Crashlytics to resolve bugs and optimize responsiveness.
  • Usage Optimization: Analyzing aggregated analytics to understand which features users engage with most.
  • Preventing Abuse: Detecting fraudulent impressions or security threats through Google AdMob's fraud prevention mechanisms.

4. Advertising & Advertising ID

Cricket Live is free to download and use. It is supported by third-party advertising via Google AdMob. Google and its ad partners may use device advertising identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID) to serve personalized or non-personalized ads according to your consent choices and system settings.

Controlling Your Advertising ID in Android: You have full control over your device's advertising ID at all times. On your Android device, you can reset or delete your advertising identifier:

  • Open Android Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Google > Ads).
  • Tap Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID to limit ad tracking across all apps.

5. User Consent (EEA, UK & Switzerland)

For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK), and Switzerland, Cricket Live presents Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent dialog upon opening the app.

This allows you to choose whether to consent to personalized advertising, non-personalized advertising, and vendor data handling in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive.

Modifying Your Consent: You can revisit and change your privacy and consent choices at any time directly within the app by opening Settings > Privacy options.

6. Third-Party Services

7. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Data is shared only with Google LLC and its advertising and infrastructure partners (AdMob, Firebase) for the operational purposes described in this policy.

We may disclose information only if strictly required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request to protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of CraftlyCode, our users, or the public.

8. Data Retention

  • On-Device Data: Stored locally on your device until you uninstall the app or clear its storage cache.
  • Firebase Crashlytics Data: Crash reports and associated diagnostic stack traces are retained by Firebase for 90 days, after which they are automatically expunged.
  • Firebase Analytics Data: Retained in accordance with Google Analytics data retention configurations and aggregated reporting cycles.
  • Google AdMob Data: Retained according to Google's standard advertising data retention policies.

9. Your Rights & Choices

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at craftlycode21@gmail.com, and we will take immediate steps to remove such information.

11. Security

We take data security seriously. All network communications with third-party service endpoints (including AdMob, Firebase, and match data feeds) are encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS (TLS encryption). While no method of digital transmission or electronic storage is 100% impenetrable, we and our service providers implement commercial industry best practices to safeguard data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in our practices, new app functionality, or legal requirements.
